CAPES, CRPE and agrégation (teacher recruitment exams)
The CAPES, the CRPE and the agrégation are the exams to become a teacher in France. Lumi helps you retain subject content, landmarks and notions of pedagogy.

In short
The CAPES recruits middle and high school teachers in a subject. The CRPE recruits primary school teachers, who teach all subjects. The agrégation is a more demanding exam, aimed at teaching and research, often in lycées and higher education. Tests combine written papers in the subject, an oral and papers on the teaching profession. They are often prepared in a dedicated master’s.
What goes on your cards
In this exam, make cards for your subject content, such as notions in maths, literature, history or language, school curriculum landmarks, authors, and notions of pedagogy and didactics. For the CRPE, add French, maths, history-geography and science. Lumi has you recall them.
A study rhythm
Written papers fall late in the academic year, so start sessions several months before and lengthen the gaps as the date approaches (Cepeda et al., 2008). Alternate subject and pedagogy each day. Keep a weekly review, then a full cycle before the oral. See How to make a study schedule before an exam.
