LNAT

The LNAT is a reading and argument test used by some UK universities for law. Lumi helps you remember your tools of analysis, not write your essay.

In short

The LNAT is used by some UK universities to select law applicants. It has a multiple choice part on texts and a part where you write an argued essay. It needs no legal knowledge. It measures careful reading, analysis of arguments and written expression. Each university explains how it uses it, so check the rules of the schools you apply to.

What goes on your cards

The LNAT rests on reading, argument and writing, which come from reading varied texts and writing timed essays. It can help you remember types of weak arguments, essay plans, analysis vocabulary and the mistakes you make in practice. One card per type of mistake, with the rule to avoid it.

A study rhythm

Read serious opinion pieces each week and sum them up in two sentences, then do a few timed essays. Keep short passes over your cards between those sessions, spread over several days (Cepeda et al., 2008).
